NEXT DAY:
Soon the the Sun welcomed the city of Eldridge with deceptive and ease calm.
.......The Morning looked mesmerizing
Golden sunlight poured over the city's towering buildings, reflecting off glass and steel as if nothing sinister lurked beneath the surface.
To an outsider, it was just another day in the empire ruled by the most powerful families of the City.
But inside the Malhotra estate, tension hung like a storm cloud which waiting to burst out and explode the it's entire existence.
Inside the Malhotra mansion,
Ekarsh stood in the training room, his fists striking the punching bag with brutal precision.
Thud.
Thud.
Thud.
Each hit carried controlled fury that was growing inside him.
Sweat rolled down his temples, but he didn't slow down.
Physical pain was easier to manage than the chaos spreading across his life.
Three of his companies attacked.
Two allies backing out.
Rumors spreading through the elite circles.
And at the center of it all-
Yanshvi Singhania.
He stopped only when the door creaked open behind him.
"Trying to destroy the punching bag or the world?"
Rudraksh's voice echoed through the room.
Ekarsh wiped his hands with a towel. "Depends. Which one deserves it more today?"Anyways what are doing here, that to in the early morning, Rudra ? Ekarsh asked with a controlled yet suspicious tone..
Meanwhile,
Rudraksh didn't pay any heed to his Question and stepped inside, leaning against the wall.
"Your temper won't solve this, Arsh"
"My temper isn't the problem," Ekarsh replied coldly.
"The problem is that someone declared a war on me without any valid reason and also attacking my empire when that person is just an ant infront of me."
"And you're assuming it's Yanshvi."said Rudraksh with an amused tone.
Ekarsh shot him a sharp look.
"She literally announced it to half the city."
Rudraksh folded his arms and declared sarcastically.
"She's being pushed by someone"
"By whom,Rudra?" Ekarsh asked
Tell me by whom,
He roared...his body started to shake because this time was furious about the fact.
"That's what I'm trying to find out, Arsh." Rudraksh replied in a light tone.
Ekarsh studied his friend for a moment.
They had trusted each other since childhood.
But this situation was tearing at the seams of that trust.
"You're getting too close to her,"
Ekarsh said quietly.
Rudraksh didn't deny it.
Instead, he said something that surprised him for a moment.
"She's not what you think."
Ekarsh laughed under his breath.
"She wants my empire destroyed."
"And yet," Rudraksh replied calmly, "something tells me she doesn't even know why."
Across the city,
the Singhania mansion buzzed with excitement.
Servants rushed through the halls carrying documents and phones rang constantly.
News of the Malhotras losing support had spread quickly.
Meanwhile
Inside the war room, Yanshvi stood before a large table covered with maps and files.
Rohan watched her with admiration.
"You've shaken the entire city in two days."
But Yanshvi didn't look pleased.
She was staring at one document.
A financial report showing the collapse of a Malhotra subsidiary.
"Not enough," she murmured.
Rohan frowned at her tone. "Not enough?"
"I didn't come back to Eldridge just to weaken them. I came to destroy them."
You what,....Before moving back to Europe,I had promised by dead family that I'll destroy the one who took them away from me...
They're my world,Rohan....My whole existence
Even I left my medical course just to give them justice, as I know that law could never give them the actual justice which they needed,
Even after their death,Rayan bhai also always their with me , he supported me,motivated me cared for me...
And suddenly her gaze darkened and she cleared her throat and began her last conversation that she dropped out while remembering her family
This time,
Her voice carried a quiet intensity that could chill down anybody's spine.
Rohan leaned forward. "Then we need to make a bigger move," he asked...
Yanshvi raised an eyebrow in amusement..
"What do you have in mind?"
Rohan slid a file toward her.
"A charity gala tonight."
She skimmed the invitation.
Her eyes narrowed immediately.
Host: Ekarsh Malhotra
Location: The Grand Eldridge ,7 star Hotel..
Her lips curved slightly.
"How convenient."
Rohan smiled.
"Every powerful family in the city will be there."
Yanshvi closed the file slowly yet deliberately.
"Then I guess it's time for another visit."
Meanwhile, at the Malhotra estate,
Aryta sat by the window of her bedroom, flipping through an old leather-bound album.
Photographs filled the pages.
Family vacations.
Celebrations.
Enjoyment.
Moments frozen in time before everything changed.
Her fingers stopped on one picture.
Two families standing together.
The Malhotras.
And the Singhanias.
Aryta frowned.
She remembered that day vaguely.
They had been children then.
Her brother Ekarsh standing proudly beside his father.
And next to them...
A small girl with bright eyes.
Yanshvi.
Aryta stared at the photo longer than she expected.
It felt strange.
How could someone who once stood beside them now want their family destroyed?
A knock interrupted her thoughts.
"Come in."
Rudraksh stepped inside.
His presence immediately made the room feel different - heavier somehow.
"You look like you're solving a mystery," he said suspiciously.
Aryta held up the photograph.
"Did you know our families used to be close?"
Rudraksh froze for a split second.
"Yes."
"Then why does Yanshvi hate us so much?"
He didn't answer immediately.
Because the truth was far more complicated than Aryta realized.
And he wasn't ready to reveal it yet.
NIGHT TIME:
LOCATION: Grand Eldridge Hotel
The Grand Eldridge Hotel glittered with lights as luxury cars lined the entrance.
Inside, the charity gala buzzed with the city's elite.
Diamonds sparkled.
Expensive suits filled the ballroom.
The night glittered like a promise.
Crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling of the Grand Eldridge Ballroom, scattering light across marble floors and gold-trimmed walls.
Music floated softly through the hall as the city's most powerful families gathered for the annual Masquerade Gala.
Every guest wore a mask.
Feathers.
Gold.
Silver.
Black velvet.
Tonight, identities were hidden.
But intentions were not.
At the top of the grand staircase stood Ekarsh Malhotra.
His black suit was perfectly tailored, his posture calm despite the bandage hidden beneath his sleeve from the gunshot wound,
Beside him stood his closest ally and friend, Rudraksh Vardan.
Rudraksh adjusted his dark mask and glanced over the crowd below.
"Half this room wants us bankrupt," he muttered.
Ekarsh smirked faintly.
"And the other half wants us dead."
"Comforting."
But tonight wasn't about appearances.
Tonight was about watching.
And waiting.
Because somewhere in this room...
Rayan Srivastav was playing a dangerous game.
And Ekarsh intended to expose him.
Just as they began walking down the staircase, a ripple moved through the crowd.
Heads turned.
Whispers spread.
Because someone had just entered.
Across the ballroom doors stood Yanshvi Singhania.
She wore a deep wine coloured gown that shimmered like fire under the lights. A delicate black mask hid half her face, but her eyes were unmistakable.
Sharp.
Confident.
Dangerous.
The entire room watched as she stepped inside like a queen entering her kingdom.
Rudraksh sighed quietly.
"She enjoys dramatic entrances."
Ekarsh's eyes didn't leave her.
"She enjoys making people nervous.
Yanshvi walked through the crowd slowly, every step deliberate.
When she finally reached the staircase...
She stopped directly in front of Ekarsh.
For a second, neither spoke.
Then she smiled faintly behind her mask.
"Nice party."
Ekarsh tilted his head slightly.
"You're not invited."
"Neither were you when you entered my war," she replied smoothly.
Rudraksh cleared his throat.
"Children, behave."
Yanshvi's gaze flicked briefly to him.
"Relax. We have a truce, remember?"
She then looked back at Ekarsh.
"And besides... tonight is important."
He understood immediately.
Rayan.
They were both here for the same reason.
Ekarsh extended his arm suddenly.p
Yanshvi raised an eyebrow.
"What's this?"
"If we're investigating together," he said quietly, "we should look convincing."
For a second, she hesitated.
Then she slipped her arm through his.
"Careful, Malhotra," she whispered as they walked into the ballroom.
"People might think we like each other."
Across the hall, Aryta Malhotra watched the scene unfold.
Her eyes widened slightly.
Yanshvi.
On Ekarsh's arm.
"That's unexpected," she murmured.
Beside her, Rudraksh leaned against a pillar.
"Unexpected is the theme tonight."
Aryta glanced at him.
"You knew?"
"Let's just say... things are complicated."
Aryta sighed.
"When are they not?"
Music shifted into a slower rhythm.
Couples began moving toward the dance floor.
Without warning, Rudraksh held out his hand.
Aryta blinked.
"What?"
"Dance with me."
She laughed softly.
"You hate dancing."
"I hate losing more."
She smiled.
"Fine."
Their hands met.
And soon they were moving among the other couples, slowly gliding across the polished floor.
For a moment, the tension of the past few days faded.
Aryta looked up at him.
"You know... if someone told me last year that I'd be dancing during a war between families..."
Rudraksh smirked.
"You'd think they were crazy."
"Exactly."
Their eyes met.
The world seemed quieter around them.
But across the room...
Someone else was watching.
From the balcony above, Rayan Srivastav observed everything carefully.
The masked crowd below.
The alliances.
The tension.
But one thing made his smile fade slightly.
Ekarsh and Yanshvi.
Together.
"That wasn't part of the plan," he muttered.
A man stepped beside him.
"What should we do?"
Rayan's eyes darkened slightly.
"Nothing yet."
He watched them move through the crowd.
Let them feel safe.
Let them think they were winning.
Because the deeper people fell into his trap...
The harder they fell when it closed.
Back on the dance floor, Ekarsh leaned closer to Yanshvi.
"See him?" he whispered.
She followed his gaze toward the balcony.
Rayan.
Her expression hardened instantly.
"He's watching us."
"Good," Ekarsh replied.
"Let him."
Yanshvi frowned slightly.
"You're planning something."
Ekarsh smiled faintly.
"Always."
Before she could ask more, the ballroom lights suddenly flickered.
Once.
Twice.
Then the entire room went dark.
Gasps echoed through the hall.
And in the darkness-
A single gunshot rang out.
When the lights returned seconds later...
Everyone froze.
Because someone had collapsed near the center of the ballroom.
Blood spreading across the marble floor.
Guests screamed again as people rushed backward.
Rudraksh immediately moved forward through the crowd.
Ekarsh and Yanshvi followed.
When they finally reached the body...
Yanshvi's breath caught.
It was one of Rayan's closest business partners.
Shot directly through the chest.
Ekarsh's eyes lifted slowly toward the balcony.
But Rayan was gone.
Vanished into the chaos.
And that meant only one thing.
This wasn't an accident.
This was a message.
And the war between the families had just become far more dangerous.
The music had stopped.
Only chaos remained.
Guests rushed toward the exits of the Grand Eldridge Ballroom, their expensive masks slipping from frightened faces.
Security guards shouted orders while waiters stood frozen, unsure what to do.
In the center of the room lay the body.
Blood slowly spreading across the white marble floor.
The man's lifeless eyes stared toward the ceiling.
And the whispers had already begun.
"Murder..."
"Someone was shot..."
"Who did it?"
Near the body stood Ekarsh Malhotra, his jaw tight as he scanned the room.
Beside him, Yanshvi Singhania knelt down carefully beside the victim.
She checked his pulse even though she already knew the answer.
Nothing.
Her voice was quiet.
"He's gone."
Ekarsh exhaled slowly.
The victim was Arvind Khanna, one of the most powerful investors tied to Rayan Srivastav.
Which made this situation... very dangerous.
Rudraksh pushed through the crowd toward them.
"Police are already on the way," said Rudraksh Vardan.
Ekarsh frowned slightly.
"That was fast."
Rudraksh shrugged.
"Someone must've called immediately."
Yanshvi stood up slowly.
Her eyes scanned the balcony where Rayan had been watching earlier.
Empty.
"He's gone," she said quietly.
Ekarsh nodded.
"Of course he is."
Because Rayan never stayed long enough to get caught.
That wasn't his style.
He preferred chaos.
Confusion.
Suspicion.
And tonight...
He had succeeded.
Sirens echoed outside minutes later.
Red and blue lights flashed against the ballroom windows.
Within moments, officers flooded the hall, forcing guests to remain inside.
A tall man stepped forward, his sharp eyes taking in the scene quickly.
Detective Dev Mehra.
He crouched beside the body, examining the wound carefully.
"Single bullet," he murmured.
One of the officers approached him.
"Witnesses say the lights went out before the shot."
Dev nodded.
Then his gaze slowly lifted...
And landed on Ekarsh.
"Mr. Malhotra."
The room fell quieter.
Because everyone knew the Malhotra name carried power.
But tonight...
Power might not be enough.
Ekarsh stepped forward calmly.
"Yes, detective?"
Dev stood up.
"Funny coincidence."
Ekarsh tilted his head.
"What is?"
"The victim," Dev said, glancing toward the body, "was heavily involved with your business rival."
His eyes flicked toward Yanshvi.
"And you two were standing closest when the lights came back."
A murmur spread through the crowd.
Suspicion.
Ekarsh remained calm.
"You think we shot him in the dark?"
Dev's voice stayed neutral.
"I think someone did."
Yanshvi crossed her arms.
"And you're already deciding who?"
Dev studied her carefully.
"Miss Singhania."
Her expression didn't change.
"You know who I am."
"Everyone in this city knows who you are," Dev replied.
A tense silence followed.
Then Rudraksh stepped forward.
"Detective, maybe we should focus on the real problem."
Dev raised an eyebrow.
"And what's that?"
Rudraksh's voice lowered.
"Someone just committed murder in a room full of witnesses and escaped during a blackout."
Dev's eyes narrowed slightly.
"Yes."
Rudraksh shrugged.
"So maybe start looking for the person who turned off the lights."
For a moment, Dev said nothing.
Then he turned toward the officers.
"Check the building's electrical system. And the security cameras."
The officers nodded and moved quickly.
But Dev's gaze returned once more to Ekarsh and Yanshvi.
"I'd appreciate it if both of you stayed available for questioning."
Ekarsh gave a small smile.
"Of course."
But inside...
He knew exactly what Rayan had done.
This was a trap.
Across the room, Aryta Malhotra stood near the staircase, watching everything unfold.
Her chest felt tight.
Ekarsh and Yanshvi were now at the center of a murder investigation.
This couldn't be good.
Rudraksh approached her quietly.
"You okay?"
She nodded slowly.
"This feels wrong."
He frowned.
"What do you mean?"
Aryta looked toward the balcony again.
"The lights went out exactly when Rayan disappeared."
Rudraksh crossed his arms.
"You think he planned it?"
Aryta's voice dropped.
"I think he wanted this."
Rudraksh's expression darkened.
Because if she was right...
Then tonight wasn't just murder.
It was manipulation.
Meanwhile, miles away in a quiet penthouse apartment...
Rayan Srivastav poured himself a glass of whiskey.
The city lights sparkled through the massive windows behind him.
A television played muted news coverage of the gala incident.
Breaking news banners flashed across the screen.
MURDER AT MASQUERADE GALA.
BUSINESS ELITE QUESTIONED.
Rayan smiled slowly.
He raised the glass toward the screen.
"To chaos."
His assistant stepped into the room.
"Sir... the police are questioning Malhotra."
Rayan chuckled.
"Perfect."
The assistant hesitated.
"What if they find out about the power outage?"
Rayan's smile widened.
"They won't."
"Why?"
Rayan took a sip of whiskey.
"Because the person who cut the power... works for them."
The assistant's eyes widened.
"You mean someone inside the Malhotra circle-"
Rayan raised a finger.
"Shhh."
His voice softened.
"Let the betrayal reveal itself naturally."
He leaned back in his chair.
Because the best way to destroy enemies...
Wasn't from the outside.
It was from within.
Back at the ballroom, the police were still gathering statements.
Dev Mehra returned after checking with his officers.
His face looked more serious now.
"What did you find?" Ekarsh asked calmly.
Dev folded his arms.
"The power system was manually shut down."
Yanshvi's eyes narrowed.
"So someone planned this."
"Yes."
Dev looked around the hall slowly.
"But here's the interesting part."
Ekarsh waited.
Dev continued.
"The security cameras were disabled exactly two minutes before the lights went out."
Rudraksh muttered quietly.
"Professional."
Dev nodded.
"Very."
His gaze moved between Ekarsh and Yanshvi again.
"Which means whoever did this knew the building
well."
A tense silence filled the air.
Then Aryta suddenly spoke.
"Detective."
Dev turned.
"Yes?"
She stepped forward slowly.
"If someone wanted to frame them..."
Everyone looked at her.
Dev raised an eyebrow.
"Go on."
Aryta's voice stayed steady.
"Wouldn't killing one of Rayan's own partners do exactly that?"
The detective studied her carefully.
"You think this was staged."
Aryta nodded.
"Yes."
Dev looked toward the body again.
Then toward Ekarsh.
Then Yanshvi.
Finally he said quietly:
"Then whoever staged it... wanted to start a war."
Ekarsh's expression hardened.
Because the war had already begun.
And tonight...
Someone had just fired the first real shot.
